Tibbe's food bowl was filled to a week's supply and he had 7 days worth of water and enough pee pads for two Great Danes but still, he was all alone. I couldn't find anybody after I got admitted that was still in town. Had the hospital only let me know on the phone I was coming in for more than just a test, I would have taken him to the pet hotel at least but all the charge nurse said is we need you here within the hour - shall we send an ambulance? So I took off immediately thinking the people doing the test I needed were about to leave for the holiday or something. What she meant was, we need you on antibiotics now. I barely got into a gown and they were hooking me up to 3 IV meds and giving me hip injections and medicine under my tongue for nausea and some awful pain shot that knocked me clean out, just like anesthesia! But once they got tired enough hearing about Tibbe alone, they sent me home with bottles of medicine, 2 of them antibiotics and I have to see the doc Wednesday and have more blood and tests. But even big Baylor Hospital gave Tibbe a break and let me come home to him, despite the frowns and groans of both my docs. Turns out the infection they expected really apparently never got a start as of this afternoon's blood tests and I'm not petri-ing anything presently so we'll see Wednesday. So Tibbe had a world of food and water - anytime I leave he's left with that much food and water just in case I have a wreck or something but boy, had I known I'd be staying, he'd have gone to the hotel as everybody was taking off this weekend. As it was, somehow God was with and he was safe. His doggie steps were moved over to one side off from the couch and that gave me a heart attack to see those! He could have fallen down between them but athlete that he is, he cleared the gap. Course he could have pushed them over celebrating when he heard me drive up today. When he gets happy, he rushes at them and pushes into them at times and he's such a strong-bodied little thing, they move! Thankfully, both of us are doing well and he's safe! But all I could see in the hospital when I shut my eyes was that funny little face here all alone.
