Wow, I wouldn't revisit this thread again so soon, except that I received a private message from Minnie's breeder. I went back and reread the entire thread and took another look at Minnie's pictures, and I agree with the consensus that she doesn't look like any Yorkie I've ever seen--the hair is way too short, and the head shape is wrong. IF Minnie is a purebred Yorkie, and that's a big IF, she is not up to breed standards. Minnie's new owner is well within her rights to ask questions about how to handle this situation on Yorkietalk, and I'm glad she is getting a DNA test done through her vet. I would ask the breeder to sit tight and wait for these test results (they should be available in less than 2 weeks). If Minnie comes back as 100% Yorkie, a lot of us will be scratching our heads, but this will all be over. If not, then the breeder will have some explaining to do. But it is pointless to attack Yorkiemommy1984 for trying to find out the truth about her puppy. |
