My Eva has a silky coat and she went through what I called an "ugly duckling stage" between 5 and 6 months. She looked pitiful. But now she is just over 7 months and her coat is growing in thicker and longer, the swan is blossoming.

Bella didn't go through the "ugly duckling stage", she has a modified coat, I think , she seems to be in between both the cotton and silky coat. She didn't lose much of her puppy coat, if any at all, and it just continues to grow long.

I use a natural shampoo and conditioner on both, Yorkie Splash & Shine, and also a detangler/conditioner when I brush them daily. I continued to use it on Eva everyday, even though her coat was sparse.
