I have an older wheaten terrier that had awful gland problems. We got caught in a bad chicken food recall some years back and I had to put her on an ID diet from the vet- the anal gland problem cleared up! I fed her fish, rice and green beans for a while. I now have her (and the two yorkies) on a fish protein only- no grain kibble with lots of probiotics and digestive enzymes. Lucy has not had her glands expressed in years and the yorkies never. Good luck!
