BLGuterl, I understand being concerned because of tick-born diseases. |
LOL -- the only time I freaked out once was last year, all the sudden I felt a bunch of 'bumps' on his leg. His hair was longer, hadn't been cut down in a while, so I never saw anything but once I lifted some of the hair up and felt all the way down his leg, I was like

I think these are ticks!!! There had to be like 20 little black things on his leg. I had never seen anything like it. All very tiny. So I actually did rush to the vet, where they indeed confirmed they were ticks, said he must have ran through a nest or something! Seeing that many all at once kinda spooked me.
But otherwise, they are normal. I saw the first one of the season actually a few days ago - it was huugeee attached to the back leg, closer to his foot. I had given him a bath the night before so I don't know how I missed it or if just got that big in one day. But it seemed dead. It exploded from the tweezers, SO gross. We haven't applied Advantix in over a month, so I'll probably do another dose since I saw one. I refuse to remove ticks myself if I don't have to though - I make my dad do it hahaha.
