The breed clubs usually have just about everything you need in the way of ready referrals. I've found them enormously helpful. If they don't know, they can give you numbers of members to call who do know one way or another. Probably a reputable breeder wouldn't trust a strange dog with unknown health history be brought into their homes out of concern for their own dogs but they would probably know of a good sitter. Or know of someone who does use a good one.
