I quit 27 years ago. We were told at work that we were relocating to a new building and there was to be no smoking on the premises. They started a program at work to quit and I joined and quit. When we got to the new location they were told that smoking was allowed in the bathrooms and I flipped. But, I'm glad I quit. I carried a carton of cigarettes in my car trunk for weeks until finally I gave it away. I used Niccorett gum and chewed it for a LOng time before I was able to go without it. Once I stopped I never again picked up a cigarette. I had smoked many years and I am so thankful that my employer offered a program for us. I was smoking 2 packs a day.. The price of cigarettes now would have taken a chunk out of the budget! Keep up the good work and just think how much better you will feel with clean lungs! |
