And Whip, I have an antipodean Facebook friend from the Wellington, NZ, area who warms me up with pictures of her Yorkies in summer sunshine during our winters. In fact, she made the coat that Jillie's wearing in the pictures

Mine both grew up in Alaska, so snow and cold much of the year is all they know. They LOVE summer, but they make the most out of winter. I think it's really a conditioning thing. If you introduce them to it gradually, they can learn to tolerate it. And a warm coat and booties make all the difference.
