It's not great for there knees and that's how some Yorkies have broken legs. My sturdy 16 pounder jumped off the couch and was limping and the er vet and our regular vet could not figure out what was wrong with her so we had to go to a orthopedic specialist who had to sedate her to do X-rays and they found out she had over extended her font leg and gave her a brace like thing to strengthen her front legs.
