Brandi has free roam but it took a few years to get there. Like everyone else, it was done in steps. First the expen, then the bedroom and finally the whole house.
Brandi is older so I don't have to worry about the puppy stuff. She is also potty pad trained. One thing that help me greatly when first allowing her more and more access was a webcam. You can see how they are doing with the new found freedom and adjust accordingly. I work from home several times a week but for those occasions when I needed to go into the office, the webcam was perfect.
Because of the webcam, I now know that Brandi just sleeps and barks at things out the window. She's the perfect little angel when she is home alone. I only use the webcam now if Brandi is not feeling well. But for the most part, I don't use it that much anymore. |
