I use a face & leg buttercomb. Hard to explain, but I use one hand to hold the hair section and keep other hair out of the way. I also comb the body hair out of the way. Sometimes I will use the long hair clips like a human stylist uses when cutting hair to keep hair out of the way.
I work from the back of the leg and then the front, under the chest. Usually I make the boys sit when I work from the front, facing their chest. This way I can make sure they don't have tangles in their armpits.
I use the wider teeth of the comb first and then move to the closer spaced teeth for a final comb through.
