It sounds like he needs some socializing that is very important. That makes a difference in a puppy. I have taken my dogs around children elders, and other dogs when they were pups. I think in time Buddie will fall in love and be very social. He just needs to get some exposure to more people and gain a little trust. Remember he is a baby and needs gentleness and love and that is what you will get back. When I got my Daisy who is 9.5 yrs old she came from a puppy mill and I could not even pet her without her shying away. I was not going to give up on her...I slowly gained her trust and spent time doing it and she is the most loving loyal dog...
