I have been a Navy wife for almost 4 years now. We've been through 3 different sea duty deployments. He was once gone for a 9 month deployment during our first year of marriage....talk about being "newlyweds". My husband is station in Coronado, CA (in San Diego) county. His dad is a retired Master Chief. One of his brother is station in TX. The other one is an officer for a submarine base in Conn. So talk about a military family It's hard dealing with deployments, but you learn and stick it out. I always remind myself how luckythat we have certain benefits such as email and phone calls. Back in the days, there was no such things as emails. Military wives back then only had to rely on "snail mail" just like my mother in law had to do. We are on shore duty now but my husband is up for sea duty next re-enlistment. Having my Teddy (yorkie) around definitely helps I hope we can all be there for each other if need be...especially around deployment times.
