One thing I really hate about it is the dose is for 1-25 pounds, if your pup is on the small side, that's a lot of product, when there are others available that have less of a dose, like 1-10 pounds. Peek A Boo used to get hyper, bloodshot eyes, and just not acting right, and it seemed like it was getting worse each time he took the stuff. I think too they can develope a sensitivity to any product over time, so I always watch and evaluate their behavior with anything they get, each time they get it, be it meds, food, treats, grooming products... anything!

Hope Tibbe continues to improve and best of luck with any further testing you decide to do. You did tell the vet he had just had his Heartgard?
Yes, I stressed he's just had his Heartgard the afternoon before, his hyper evening and that's one reason they wanted to keep him so long was just to have him under surveillance for a while so they weren't going to call me until just before 7:00 p.m. but I called & they said to come on in. But she said he wasn't toxic from it that she could determine from his vitals and signs and tests. Neuro WNL, etc. and no organs obviously swollen, belly nonswollen or tender, etc. Even though it had been almost 24 hrs. since his dose when I got him in, she just wanted to observe him for a while to see how he behaved. She said he seemed normal while there. Right before I called they fed him and he ate hungrily and wanted more, she said and they watched him for another hour or so after that while I waited there. He had no signs of nausea or diarrhea there but you know how it is, unless he's very, very sick, a dog like Tibbe acts so differently when he's out and about w/lots of excitement going on, etc. But once he was home, he started behaving oddly again. That's when you can see how they really feel - back at home.

He did sleep the night and ate his low fat breakfast this morning, drank and has pee'd. He's had his K-Pectin and his little mustache is covered in that stuff - he hates it and spits half it out before I can get his muzzle up and rub the sides his throat lightly. I give only a little at a time in the side pocket of his mouth to be sure he won't aspirate it so it takes quite a while to get his whole huge 10 ml. dose down. We got to 8 and I stopped for a while and let him rest. Now we need to go wash his face. He's been a good little patient though and won't fight me until that liquid starts to go in his mouth and then he just mostly moves backward and spits.
