I've never boarded Mandie, but I've boarded Shelby at the vet several times. I don't know if I could do it for Mandie though...we'll see when and if the occassion arises. The boarding at the vet has always gone really well for Shelby and I know he has care if he gets sick.
If it gets too much for you to bare, could you possibly hire a pet sitter to come stay at your house for those days? Some areas are better than others at having that option so I thought I'd throw it out there for you.
