Hi Auntie, I also got my Buster Brown from the Barkworks in Thousand Oaks. The first night I brought him home he started coughing bad. He had Kennel Cough that we fought for two months that verged on Pneumonia and required a 3 day hospital stay, he also had Giardia, Coccidia, and arthritis in his front legs and LP (bad knees) in his back legs. Barworks states they know their breeders but they lie and get them from puppy mills. California has puppy lemon laws. I actually used the lemon law on Barkworks and they refunded about 75% of what I paid for him because of the huge amount I spent on medical bills in the first two months.
If you buy a dog from a pet store or commercial breeder, California's so-called Puppy Lemon Law gives you some protections in case the animal becomes ill shortly after purchase. I actually found Yorkie Talk because I was so frightened and desperate about Buster's health.
Best wishes and prayers for your sweet Dizzy and you.

The law, officially known as the Pet Breeder Warranty Act, applies to cases in which the purchased dog gets sick due to an illness or disease that existed within 15 days of purchase. It also applies if problems arise in the first year after the sale because of a congenital or hereditary condition.
