I brush both Jack and Izzy dry. Jack's hair is really fine and silky and really only needs brushing a couple of times a week. Izzy is more of a cottony coat and seems to get a bit "static-y" too. I brush her one to two times a day. Usually in the morning and usually at night. Since I am not showing either of them, I am not too worried about breakage - so far Izzy's fur has been fine and no breaking.
