Default cataract surgery

My little 2 1/2 year old Phoebe had cataract surgery on tuesday. I was totally shocked when I picked her up on wednesday morning. Her poor little eye is so swollen and sore looking... I guess I didn't expect it to look so bad.
I also didn't expect them to shave as much of her hair as they did. They started at her beard & shaved the whole side of her head and face to behind her ears. They even cut off her topknot! Poor baby looks like a chemo patient. I was so overwhelmed by her appearance and all of the post op instructions that I didn't ask why they had to shave so far back on her head. I know it's just hair and will grow back, but I can't understand why they had to cut off her topknot!

I was warned about the amount of meds/eye drops she would be on, but it's still overwhelming. Thank God I can be home with her. I can't imagine how hard it would be to have to leave her alone and try to manage her meds if I were working and couldn't be with her!

I tried to post her post op pics but can get them to work.
