We don't follow Dodds protocol for anything.

We follow established AAHA guidelines for core vaccines (every three years).
We follow state law for rabies.
We administer heart work prevention monthly
We use flea and tick medications seasonally
We test annually for heart worm and tick borne diseases
We do fecal exams only when warranted for symptoms
We do labs - blood and urine - at least once a year but most of the time at least twice
We do dental cleanings when warranted.
Just to note: I have two dogs that are almost 13. I stopped their annual DHPP last year, and will stop on the younger ones after the age 7 shot. I did rabies on my 12 year olds this year and will do it again at 15 if they live that long, unless there is a medical waiver in my state at that time. I'll risk the shot over a quarantine in a state shelter.
