Standard Pet Carrier here, too, for crating. Blazer loves his kennel and sleeps in it every night right next to my side of the bed. He's safe in there and I like knowing exactly where he is- especially if I have to get up in the middle of the night (I have 3 young daughters so it is a common occurance around here!) and I don't have to worry about possibly stepping on him! He has a soft baby blanket folded up inside of it for his bed and, until he destroyed it, a stuffed toy that was about the same length as him (it was great when I first brought him home and he was missing his mama and siblings.)
