I adopted my Willow in Nov. 2010, she was 5 1/2 yrs old, she was a release from a breeder to the Rescue Group I adopted her from. I chose to take her myself and have her dental done instead of letting the Foster Mom do it. Now granted Rescue's don't normaly do this, but they knew me and I them. Her teeth were in horrible shape. She had to have 18 teeth extracted, plus she had many that had already fallen out on their own due to the dental diease. She only has a total of 5 teeth left in her mouth and I can tell you she did great with her dental. She felt much better after all those rotten teeth were removed. She is able to eat kibble (tiny bites) but she mostly eats canned food. She did so well, she only took her pain med's for 3 day's.She was on antibiotics for 14 day's. All of her blood was perfect, with the exception showing an infection which was due to her teeth. I had blood work done on her again one month after the dental and all was perfect. Prayers going out for your little one that he does great with his dental. Oh have they started him on antibiotics yet? Willow was started on antibiotics 4 day's before her dental.
