Sorry this is super long! Also, this happened last week, Thursday but haven't been able to sign on. So I've had a rough last week, Livie almost died, it was very traumatic, stressful, scary for me and for her. It just seems she has one problem after the next. Long story short I was in my room on my bed when I hear her make a 'hairball sound', you know that sound that they make when they have something in their throat and are trying to clear it or they drink water too fast. Usually it just goes away but it didn't and then i see her just pass out on the floor. I grabbed her, she was stiff. I carried her, yelled her name, stuck my finger down her throat, she was unresponsive. I did my best to give her doggy CPR, having no idea what i was doing but it worked. She woke up and looked at me. The whole time i was screaming "NOOOO Don't do this please" thinking she was dying which she would have if I wasn't there. She was still stiff and just lay there looking up. So i took her to the bed and she started to get up and kinda threw herself on me. As she did that she let out a cry, pooped herself and fell down, went stiff again, as i lf in shock. I was freaking out, afraid to move her around. She had pooped herself on my bed, i had to run get a towel but didn't want to leave her. I managed to do so and cleaned her with wipes but then she pooped herself again, diarrhea. She was acting really really strange, stiff, moving weird, noises coming from her belly. Thank God my godbrother was home, I managed to get him to drive us to the ER vet. On the way there she threw up clear stuff, kept pooping herself, gagging, going stiff, tongue turning blue, it was a nightmare, thought she was dying in my arms. I breathed a sigh of relief when we got there and said "take her now" as in please help her now! Long story short(well trying to make it short) i had to sign papers asking if its ok to do cpr on her, revive her, stabilize her etc etc, i said yes. They gave her oxygen, fluids and idk what else but she had to stay the night. I was a mess obv. I didn't even expect her to make it, they had told me she probably wasn't going to given her condition, she was gasping for air, couldn't breathe right. But she made it through the night. $2,000 later that is. (Oh nyc, just an amazing place to live) lol Still paying for that btw its been the worst! The worst is i still don't even know what happened . They said severe gastoentiritis(sp?) and possibly severe pancreatitis. All she ate was her regular food, california natural and bits of pineapple that morning. For now i've just been giving her bland rice and chicken and pepcid ac. They gave me antibiotics too but she finished taking them. Can anyone shed some light on this, give me a glimmer of hope, just an ounce please? Idk what even happened to her. Right now she is fine but they said it could occur again and i'm scared to death of that.
