Our Dog's hair is almost identical in constitution as ours.
It's more susceptible to breakage when it's quite dry or long, or brushed infrequently (tangles cause resistance). It's quite normal to see accumulated hair in a Comb or Brush. Regular (not excessive) bathing, conditioning and brushing reduces the loss.
