I thought I had read that a retired breeding female is usually sold for about the amount of spay and any other vet care.

My Chuy was a one-year old rehome. I paid $250, and he was neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and paper trained like a sharp-shooter.

I think your breeder is asking for WAY too much.

Also will you have vet tests etc proving she is healthy before you pick her up?

If it were me I would not pay that price for a dog knowing so little about her. Why not stick with the lower price that you feel is right and then you should have a cute dog that you love? If not, then there will be another baby out there for you. Sorry about all the queries/comments, but after being on YT for some time I see many traps for the unwary when it comes to adopting a new baby.

Happy you came on YT, I know I am always learning here. Good luck, I hope all turns out well for you.
That is a Rediculous price !!

I agree with the above statements. Way too high and if she want to sell her as a spayed only sale, than she should have it done before she rehomes her. Plus, yes she should have a health check done or ask to see her vet records. The breeder should have them on hand or can get them from her family vet. You could ask her permission to contact her vet to discuss her history too.

If you have your heart set on getting this girl, I would not just take the breeders word that she is healthy. Get Proof that she has been vacinated and is up to date and that there are no health issues or concerns. I would also ask for a discount for the spayed cost so that you can honor it without being out tons of additional moneys to have it done. Do some research on the cost of it before you negotiate a price.

If it were me, I would not be willing to pay more than $250/un spayed $350/spayed for a dog that they claim to be pure breed but unregistered Yorkie
