Haha! I know exactly what you mean when you say that your living room is a race track!!
And I'm not exactly sure what had me so driven to get a second dog. I guess because I fostered a lot and I always liked having two around. Twice the fun, twice the cuteness, twice the love. It was and is also twice the work, but eventually you just get used to it and it doesn't bother me at all.
In some way, I kind of adopted a second dog for the same reason you're thinking about getting a second dog. Clyde really likes having a buddy to play with, but I also like the idea that I will always have one of them with me, even when one of them passes away.
