I can totally relate to what you are saying and what you have gone thru. I lost my Jasmine (she was a Pom) almost 7 years ago now. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes as I type this. That pain does ease but it never goes away.
I can say this...when the time is right, you will find another pup to come into your heart. That new pup will never replace the one you lost, but it is amazing how you suddenly realize you have this entirely other spot in your heart that was just waiting to be filled up by him/her. I was shocked when it happened to me.
I'm so glad you found us and it is very nice to meet you. I am so sorry for your loss. I, and a LOT of us here, feel your pain and have been there. I hope you stick around and let this place help your heart in its healing.
