Accidents happen and no one is perfect. I wouldn't fire the guy just for a one time slip. He might have thought he shut it but it didn't catch. I would just make sure to check that the gate is secure EVERY time someone else uses it. I also think yorkies should be watched anytime they're outside. I try to think of them the same as a human toddler. They shouldn't be out without direct supervision. Someone else might open your gate and their are so many outdoor dangers!
I've never heard of such a service but agree with concerns of possible cross-contamination. Wonder how the guy describes his career choice to others? A nice side benefit of our tiny yorkies is their tiny poops, especially when you feed a high quality low residue food. I recommend DIY cleanup if you can. Another reason for cleaning up youself is so you will notice any health problems that show themselves in the stool.
