Same with us in rescue! Once the rescue dog is placed, it never means the foster family is gone from the dog's life forever. If for some reason or another (ie death in the family, etc) the rescue dog comes back to the rescue; it's in the contract. I still stay in contact with all my foster dogs. That's one of the perks of being a foster mom!
