Hi and welcome to YT!!! Congrats on your new addition! I know how excited and nervous you are as I've only had my yorkie for a couple months myself. I know I used to think closing our puppy off in a bathroom was the right thing to do but since coming to YT have heard what others have done and changed my mind.
I don't know what your living arrangements are (i.e. house or apartment) but if you have the room, many people use a crate and an X-pen setup for their puppies. The crate serves as the pup's "safe place" and a place for them to sleep inside the X-pen. The X-pen (we ended up getting a play pen) serves as a place that contains the crate, pee pad(s), food and water, and a few toys.
As for leaving your pup for a few hours, there are things for you to remember, such as:
I don't want to scare you but your puppy is very young. Young enough to experience a sudden drop in blood sugar leading to hypoglycemia (which can cause death). Is there someone who would be willing to watch your pup while you are away? Do you have Nutrical on hand in case of a drop in blood sugar?
Also your puppy is probably experiencing separation anxiety from leaving it's mommy. Do you have another dog at home to keep him company??
There are other things to consider as well and there are suggestions that will probably help you out. Unfortunately, I'm still rather new to this as well so I will bump this up so others will see it and come by to offer you help.
I wish you all the best in raising your new baby! Again congrats and stay in touch, I'd love to see how she grows.
