We are currently up for his shore duty orders and have no idea where we even want to go. They are not letting us more any further west than TX. So that's probably where we'll end up. We're trying to inch our way back to Illinois I guess. I hate it though because we are moving away from everything we know. I don't have any family close to there and we've made so many good friends here (even though most are in the military and are eventually going to leave anyways as well.) At least I've learned how important friendships are and how hard the good ones are to find. I've also learned how important family is and now much I miss them.
Hey, no dissing Norfolk....kidding. I grew up here and I never ever dated anyone in the military. I didn't want to do the "send off at the pier" thing. I wanted my husband to stay home....ok he goes on business trips sometimes, but we usually go visit. He's civil service with the DOD, so his trips are to Navy bases. Spent a week in San Diego in Point Luma (sp?)...beautiful. My daughter wishes her dad was in the military 'cause when her friends move...it's been to Europe and Italy I'd prefer to just go on vacation there
