People buying puppies from a pet store, paying 1500.00-2500.00 for the baby....you have to be told, THE PET STORE bought that puppy from a puppy mill or a byb who is just interested in $$$$$, and dumping the babies as quickly as possible, usually around 5 weeks of age. The pet store buys cheap dogs of questionable lineage, they are registered APRI and then the price the pet store got this puppy for, is doubled or tripled, so the pet store makes a profit. The cheap price the byb got for their puppy, was all profit for them, because they dumped the pups without any vaccinations, microchiping, etc. Worming is cheap, so not much is lost there....first set of vaccinations is the only real expense the byb has to absorb. I have been approached by pet stores to go "into business" with them...they would buy any puppy I had, guaranteed, for as long as I wanted to sell to them. They understood my dogs were "higher quality" so they would pay me up to 1000.00 per puppy, because they knew they could double that price to sell to customers.....so there you have it. I tell them I can not default on my integrity and do that.....but that is the hook they use to catch people that are just interested in incubating puppies for profit. |
