I showed the Ground keeper some of the spots in hallway as it was only place it was dark enough for him to see. He would not admit that it was old pee but did ask the carpet cleaner to come back and go over the place again. He asked me if I could move some of my stuff around where the spots were.
I moved everything except TV, couch, dinning room table, bed and dresser either outside to patio or kitchen/bathroom floor. (also kitchen/bathroom floors light up all over I guess from some ammonia in the floor cleaner they used)
Anyway the the carpet cleaner got here late in afternoon and said that he didn't think he had enough cleaner to do it and would have to come back. After he found out that I had taken everything out he took a metal pole which I guess detects pee stains and put it down a few places and stated that there wasn't that many spots and he would go ahead and treat it and shampoo again. (Seemed a little ticked about having to come back)
I told the manager when he went out that I felt that he could be missing some spots with his tool.
Anyway I went to a flee market and a second hand store to try to kill time while the carpet dried with a couple of fans left on them.
Last night after it got dark I went around with my black light and the place is still covered with places on the carpets that light up. Don't think that it even did anything.
I am worried that after all my housetraining of my Yorkie is going to regress if I don't get them to get the smell out of the carpets.
The management is only here during daylight hours so hard to show them what I am seeing at night. This morning I experimented with my digital camera on a tripod with the flash disabled on about a 2 sec exposure and turning on the black light and think that I have some pics to show management on Monday. I am hoping that will be enough to get them to make it right after all I paid them $350 for the privilege of having my dog in the apt. and I'm sure the previous resident did all so. That fee is none refundable so seems to me I should be able to expect a carpet free of previous dog pee. I crate my yorkie when I am not at home and take him out to pee. I watch him carefully and once in awhile when he messes up I immediately soak it up and put Nature's Miracle on it.
I do not want to move as my current apt. is fairly new (1 year old) and I have a garage for my tools and motorcycle and trailer but done want to have to smell pee either. |
