good question! I would like to know the answer to this also.

I took Edie to a friend's house where there was a pool. I got in the pool and I put her on the step, which was under about an inch of water. She froze--did not move an inch. I decided not to force her, and took her out of the pool.

I hear some Yorkies LIKE swimming, and I would like Edie to learn in case we get a house with a pool when we move. If we did have a pool, I would have to ensure that we had a fence around it that was Yorkie-proof OR I could teach her how to swim and rig up some sort of ramp or apparatus that would allow her to get out of the pool easily in case she fell in.

Cindy (livingdustmops) rescues Yorkies in Tucson, and she will not adopt out pups to people with swimming pools. Maybe she knows something we dont know....
