Wow, Amazing in dead. I wish I had such an offer when I first started out. That is an amazing offer by (Deb) of Amazing Yorkies, if I were you I would take her up on it. For her to offer to help you (a compleat stranger) in ways that a first time breeder could only dream of. I was not so lucky but thankfully YT and this wonderful community of knowledgeable and caring members was here when I had questions.
Senne: I've only been breeding for six short years and even I would never consider taking a pregnant female that is due on a road trip. Unless that road trip was to the emergency vets office. I would suggest that you do not take your pregnant female with you on your trip to see your grandchild be born. By taking a pregnant dog on a road trip during the last two weeks of pregnancy will put additional stress on the puppies and the mother. That stress could and more than likely will cause issues during her whelp. Just think, It is no different than your daughter not traveling during her last few weeks of pregnancy. If you take her, you are choosing to put her in a stressful situation and putting her life and the life of her pups at risk. I don't know any responsible pet owner who would do that.

I know that having this dilemma is not easy. You cant be in two places at the same time. I know that the birth of a grand child is a really big deal. But the safety of your pregnant female and her unborn pups is equally as important. I defiantly would hate to be in your situation. You can clearly see that there are well educated breeders and members here that care and that have offered you solutions to your dilemma. If you choose to leave your pup with anyone while you leave why not the best.

Consider this, you take her with you, she gets stressed and is now in need of an emergency c-section and you are in a strange vets office with people who you are not familiar with. Then receive a bill of thousands of dollars. Now consider that all of that could have been avoided by leaving her in the hands of a reputable breeder and you return home a new grandmother and to a nursing mother and three healthy pups.

You still have time to get yourself and your female acquainted with Deb before your trip. You still have time to discuss pros and cons and what to expect. By leaving your gal with a responsible, knowledgeable and reputable breeder does not make you a bad person in any way. The way I see it is that that makes a very Lucky person!
