Having grown up with Golden Retrievers I have to confess that at one time I too was afflicted with a prejudice for big dogs. The first Yorkie I ever actually knew belonged to my future wife and at first I just didn't get the whole Yorkie thing. But before long "Dixie" went about converting me and I am happy to say she succeeded. I think that a lot of people don't realize that most Yorkies have more personality in their dewclaws than most other breeds will ever hope to have. Maybe its the bow on the topknot and the impossibly long hair that people can't get past, but that is their loss.
