Hi Everyone! I just wanted to update everyone on how Princess Sophie is doing after having both a UTI and ear infections.
We went for her four month check up this morning and Princess Sophie received another Distemper shot. She was so brave and didn't wiggle, whine or cry. I am so very proud of her!!!
What really surprised me though was that she weighed in at 3 lbs. 2 oz. At her 3 month check up she weighed in at 2 lbs. 15 oz. and at that weigh in she had almost doubled her size from her 2 month check up. I asked if something was wrong and the Vet said that she has probably hit a plateau for a time and at her next check up she may grow more or less. As long as she's eating well, drinking plenty of water, playing and all her functions are working properly then we don't need to be worried about anything. Her growth rate has just slowed down.
I know that I have shared in previous posts my concern about having a puppy that is really small, we understand the concerns about health issues coinciding with puppy weight and as such are continuing to make sure she has food and fresh water all day long.
For right now, she's doing great!!
