I think they're already in the process...so for now, this is a moot point. I too get so nervous/scared when I see breeding threads where the OP is having some trouble. But, right now they just need support in terms of safety. The OP did mention they've been preparing for over a year, so hopefully that equates to quite a bit of thought and learning.
OP, hope the doggies are safe and that you're able to handle the huge task of breeding. I'm not a breeder, so I can't offer any advice. However, you're in great hands with Carmen!
