My 2 year old Yorkie Poo is black with all of the poodle fur characteristics. His mama was a cream colored mini-poodle and his daddy is a yorkie. (Never saw the papa). In the past few weeks, we have noticed that Moses' fur is gray at the base of his fur, and he is getting some white spots on his back! He has some white strands here and there, too. It's only down the center top of his back. His legs and the rest of him is still all black. Is it normal for a dog who is 2 years 5 months old to change colors??? He just had his annual check up and got a clean bill of health. The vet thinks if we were to shave him down, his fur would grow in gray!
Any ideas??
