Right now I am grooming Princess Sophie in my lap. Since we are just brushing and combine that works for us. I heard from another member that using the comb first was key. A brush can't reach down to the fur right next to the skin so a comb first, with the tines that are further apart is the best way to start. I also begin at her bottom and I give lots of treats during the process. I do only give her one at a time so it takes a bit longer but she is much more cooperative. We comb and brush twice a day and remember never do this with completely dry hair. It's best if you also use a detangling spray. Just a little as you don't want to soak your puppy, then it's really hard to comb out.

Be patient, this war isn't won overnight but at almost 4 months old, Princess Sophie is doing really well in this area. Practice makes perfect. You'll do fine!!
