If anyone ever gives the dog a part of what they are eating you can bet your dog is going to think that everyone should share every time they have something. They don't understand that you or whoever it is that shared is doing it as a one time deal. They see it as something they should get every time and feel left out if you don't share every time. If anyone in your home or any visitor likes to share food or allow your dog to do things that you would prefer the dog not have you need to get them to stop. You can't teach the dog "NO" just sometimes. It has to be no at every occasion. It is a difficult thing to control sometimes, especially if you have kids.

Gracie has never been a whiner but she is not as food motivated as some dogs I have had. They need to know what "NO" means and understand you mean it.....every time.
