I NEVER see people looking for a 15 lb yorkie. I think MORE people say they want a yorkie that HAS TO BE less than 4 lbs to dress up. If you want a dog less than 4lbs from someone who breeds for tinies then you need to find a stuffed animal. IMO Buying from people who breed specifically for tinies promotes bad breeding ethics. I wish that people who wanted yorkies weren't so obessed with size. There is so much more to think about. |
You are mistaken if you believe a dog is healthy just because it is BIG. I imagine the number of tiny Yorkies and large Yorkies from reputable breeders is the same. Experienced breeders lead to healthy Yorkies.
I bet MORE of the huge Yorkies come from breeders who have no regard for the standard and throw two pets together to make puppies. Anyone doing something like that doesn't have knowledge of the breed and
ignorance leads to health issues.
These dogs are supposed to be small. Under 7lbs. One of the reasons people are attracted to Yorkies is they want a small dog. Nothing wrong with that.
I don't agree with breeding tiny females but I think it's just as bad to breed poor quality large Yorkies.
