When I needed a new machine I went Sears and bought a Kenmore. Janome makes Kenmore and feature for feature the price of Kenmore is much lower. My Kenmore if it were labeled Janome would have cost me 800 dollars, I only paid 385. I have been very very happy with my sewing machine. It is computerized and has some excellent features. I suggest looking at different machines and at which features you feel would be good to have and make a feature wishlist. Then it's simply a matter of best any for your buck.
