I do not have salt lamps but I know people who do and swear by them. I only use Himalaya salt for food, however, and I LOVE IT! Not only is it tasty, it is very salty and you need only teensy amounts. If you put too much on, say popcorn, unlike chemical salt...sodium chloride...you can still eat it because it still tastes good and does not make you feel wicked thirsty the way chemical salt does. Now for the kicker...lol...I found, after eating overly chemical salted restaurant food and experiencing the 'water balloon belly yet unquenchable thirst'...I 'hate' that feeling...that a 'tip of my little finger' sized bit of Himalaya salt completely eliminated that horrible thirst. DH did not believe me, but tried it anyway. Guess what? It worked for him, too. Not sure how it works for everybody else, but I definitely am a big fan!
