Hi, we never officially got a diagnosis for Enzo. He is now 7 and I have worked very hard to "cure" him the last few years. He was seizure free for one full year but unfortunately had one last week but I think I have an idea why.

Here is what I did find out after a million tests, trial, error, etc:

1. Enzo has higher than norma bile acids which meant he could have a liver shunt, common in Yorkies, but an MRI showed he did not have an exterior shunt but most likely has some interior shunting. Blood tests are all normal though so liver is functioning normally. My vet said she has never met a Yorkie yet that did not have some sort of liver issue.

2. We never put him on conventional seizure meds, rather we have been treating him with laser and chiropractic care. That is what I think did the trick along with diet:

3. I had to be super strict with him and eliminate all treats and I make his food. The vomiting stopped completely after I fed him only white fish - I home cook and he eats a combo of whitefish, like cod, haddock or hake, quinoa and pureed frozen chinese vegetable medly mix. After his vomiting stopped, I did start feeding him ground turkey too instead of fish. He gets a tsp of real sardine as a treat and is on Chinese Herbs called Di Tan Tang to control the seizures as well as a multivitamin, calcium supplement and probiotic. The reason I think he had the seizure was because the week before we decided to try bison again to see if he could handle it and he also had a soft rawhide chew for tartar control I got from a vet. He regularly was having an Enzadent chew for his teeth for the past three months but never was interested in the rawhide chew before but ate one the day before his seizure - it has the same ingredient as the enzadent but it is possible that and the bison did it.

4. Enzo will have to get laser and chiropractic treatments for the rest of his life and hopefully this last seizure was just a fluke and we are back to normal.

I see you are in Greece so I do not know the pet care you have but if you have a holistic vet in your area, I would encourage going. It could be anything but you need to test for problems, probably change diet and stop yearly vaccinations if you do that. I titre Enzo and he is completed protected without having had a vaccine in 3.5 years......

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Otherwise, Enzo is happy and healthy = best health he has been in years!
