ditto, Kathy in case you missed the date that post Dawn made is not very recernt.
In thinking about this, as a comparison I had two friends lose spouses less then a month ago and from the very beginning they sent texts and emails with info and thanks to people that helped them. With so much technology at one's finger tips it is easy to drop someone a quick message if you want to.
I think most people are understanding about the fact that she might not have the time to make a smile box or complete packing a box but they do have trouble understanding the lack of communication.
