Ive only plucked my 3 kiddos ear hair a handful of times in almost 7 years and dont have any ear issues. They all have erect ears which allows for much better air flow than a floppy eared breed. On the other hand, my late Maltese and Bichon required regular ear plucking as their ears were floppy and always trapped moisture, and we dealt with ear infections, especially in my Bichon if I didnt.
Inspecting your babys' ears regularly (look down into the canal ) and smelling ( know their normal scent)them will give you an indication on whether to pluck or not.
Always pluck them dry! and pull fast a few hairs at a time |
