Do these people show dogs them selves or do they only have dogs whose ancestry have champions?
If they do show then ask what dog clubs they do belong to. Most areas have local dog clubs. Many of those clubs sponsor dog shows and matches. Most reputable people who show/breed are active in their local clubs.
If they are legit they should be able to show you a lot of documentation of their show history and pedigrees.
You do want to know what kind of testing they are doing on their breeding stock to make sure they are not passing on genetic defects of any kind.
References from other dog people. Judges as well as others who have purchased from them. Vet references can be helpful if you know who you are dealing with.
If at all possible go tot he place and see their set up before making a decision. |
