Thanks for all your feedback, here's an update and would like some more advice as this is our first experience with issues like this. We picked her up from the vet last night around 9, and her fever had went away and she was back to normal or so it seemed. We brought her home and gave her a little wet dog food because she kept running to her bowl and she hadnt eaten all day. Then this morning around 3:30 she threw up. She threw up another 2 times the last being at 6:30. After that she was back to her normal self so we decided to give her a little food as well as the medication that was sent home with us. The medication that was sent home was an amoxi-drops and KETOPROFEN syrup. Which was also given as an injection too. We went about our day until around 3 and she started throwing up again, this timing being her food that we had previously given her. Around 3:30 after her throwing up 2 more times we found another vet that was open and got her in. They ran blood tests and gave her an injection of some sort that is supposed to help with the vomitting and sent us home. They were supposed to send us home with FAMOTIDINE tablets but when we got home we realized that they hadnt sent them and we tried calling and they were already gone.
We looked up the side affects of the KETOPROFEN syrup and it says its very irritating to the stomache, when we pointed out the time frames of when she had gotten it and her throwing up, the vet we took her too today acted like it could be related. Has anyone else ever had to give their little one this medication? We are not giving it to her tonight to see if that might be the cause, but we seem to be at a complete loss as to what is going on. It seems like she will throw up three-five times and then be done for several hours and goes back to her normal playful self and The fever has not returned. The vet advised us to not feed her tonight, which is understandable, but she keeps looking for her food. And he also advised not to leave water out and to just give her ice cubes to lick...
I guess my main concern would be that the KETOPROFEN syrup is doing more damage to her system then anything and I dont want to hurt her. Advice?
