Maxie has to take a cough suppressent for Tracheal Collapse. It smells bad andmust taste pretty awful, too, as he struggles against it. But I do it -- .4 ml every six hours because... because the alternative is he might have a coughing fit and die... he's supposed to lose weight too, so I'm limited as to a treat to 'kill the taste' after the med. He's only 7# and the Dr wants him at 5.5 or 6.0 #, so the tiniest of treats blows his food budget. All this to say, I agree... BE TOUGH! They will forgive, and sometimes the best treat is a simple back rub. Maxie goes into the 'zone' when scratched up and down his wooly bully back.
