I feel you! I know how tough it is - it kills you. But I'm so glad you got that painkiller into him. Maybe he can get enough relief and rest a bit soon.
I just try to become the nurse and think "if I don't do this, my baby won't get help - and besides, I think he trusts me and understands that I must do this". And I tell Tibbe "this will help you" and look right in his eyes and he looks back like he understands somehow. And I think they do or they would probably try to bite us or really make a run for it. Mostly though, they just sit there and wait with only minimal struggle. Somehow they must know and I KNOW they forgive. But since that baby depends on you, now is the time to go steely just long enough to do what you have to. You can do it!!! Hang in there.
